Portia brings over 17 years of experience in education, specializing in literacy and family-school partnerships. She earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on literacy from the University of Virginia and has served as a teacher, mentor, and founder of a literacy tutoring service that empowered families and helped students build confidence and skills for success.
